Happy Tuesday friends! It’s the week of Christmas, and I am sooo over shopping, gift guides, etc. I think it’s time to be eat Christmas cookies on the couch in my pajamas, and I hope you agree! This outfit post is a long-time coming because I have been storing these Stuart Weitzman Hiline OTK boots in my closet since Summer! I got them on sale because I just couldn’t stomach the full price. BUT after wearing them just once, I know why women have fallen in love with these! Below, I’ll review the infamous boots and tell you all the deets.
The ‘Highland’ boot rose to popularity a few years ago, and they have since been discontinued. The ‘Highland’ is now the ‘Hiline’ style. In a nut shell, the ‘Hiline’ heel is a stacked heel, compared to a thinner heel on the ‘Highland,” and the sole on the ‘Hiline’ is supposedly better and more comfortable. See this is a YouTube video, which I found super helpful. I can only speak to the ‘Hiline’ style, but it’s very well-made shoe. The shoe is non-slip and stable, while the stacked hell is very, very comfortable. I wore these boots around NYC and felt super sturdy – and those NYC sidewalks can be the worst.
Now, if you know me and have read my blog for some time, you know that my calves are unusually large, so I have a hard time finding well-fitting boots. Not going to lie – the first time I put on these boots, I thought to myself, heck no, these boots are soooo dang tight. But I was too stubborn, so I bought some leather stretch spray, wore the boots around the house, and whew, they definitely loosened up! I also love the ties, which stay tied! I have a few other OTK boots, and I always have to re-tie through the day and night, which can be such a pain. Also, all the online stores say to go up a size, but I actually went down a size and they fit perfectly.
While I’m not saying go out and buy a pair of $800 boots this moment, if you have been looking for a great pair of OTK boots that (1) will never go out of style, (2) are comfortable and well-made, and (3) will complement any outfit, I highly suggest you keep a lookout for the Hilines. They do go on sale throughout the year, so a little patience can go a long way!
