Christmas Week Wrap-Up

Cartier Love Bracelet

Whew, this week has flown by! I was busy finishing up some projects at work and getting all the Christmas things ready.

Monday, the Yelp NOVA and MD Burbs teams had our annual Holiday dinner at Hong Kong Palace. It was some of the best Szechuan Chinese food I have ever had!  Here is my Yelp review, in case you are interested.

Tuesday, Bryan treated me to The Nutcracker at The Warner Theatre and dinner at Rasika.  I love The Nutcracker and it brings back so many memories of when I was practicing around the clock and getting ready to perform in The Nutcracker every year!  The Warner Theatre is a beautiful venue and it totally put us in the holiday spirit.

Easy Italian Christmas Cookies

Christmas week is officially here and what better way to celebrate, then to make some yummy Christmas cookies!  I had a fun-filled weekend, including my BFF’s Christmas Party (I brought these cookies!), and a family get together with Bryan’s Aunt and Uncle, where we made fudge.  It was my first attempt at fudge and it wasn’t pretty, so I am sharing this cookie recipe instead. This very SIMPLE cookie recipe.  Fudge…who knew it was so complicated…

The Next Big Thing – Bell Sleeves

Vince Camuto booties (similar here)

Can we talk about this wall.  It’s at Mosaic District in Merrifield and I am obsessed with it!  So many great colors and words to inspire.  This post is about what of the coolest, or grooviest, trends around, the bell sleeve.  I am seeing them everywhere – in stores and on some of my favorite bloggers.

This sweater is one of my favorite buys from Black Friday.  It has a great bell sleeve, that you can see in the picture below, and it has a subtle design on the front.  It’s so subtle, you can’t even see it in my pictures.  D’oh! Also, forgive my orange glow that I got from the big orange BE next to my face.  Grrr

Christmas Time in NYC

I am doing a Travel Tuesday post to recap my trip to New York City this past weekend.  Bryan has been working in NYC during the week, so we wanted to do all the Christmas things.  His mom and her boyfriend came down from Upstate NY, so we also got to spend time with them.  I flew up Friday afternoon, since the price for my flight turned out to be over $150 cheaper than Amtrak tickets.  At certain times of the year, especially during the Holidays, it is worthwhile to compare prices between flights and train tickets.  This weekend was particularly crazy.  So. many. people.

Ted Baker London Wrap Coat

Ted Baker London Elethea Short Belted Coat in Camel (also available in black, white, hot pink)

Tom Ford ‘Anoushka’ Sunglasses

I am finally sharing this Ted Baker coat that I am so obsessed with.  I had it on my wish list and while B and I were in London, I felt like being fancy, so I bought the coat!  It also helped that the exchange rate was in my favor AND the coat was almost $200 less than if I had bought it in the US.

My coat is in the camel color, which is a beige-y pink.  For Fall and Winter coats, I go with browns and beiges since I wear a lot of black and white.  The color is so beautiful – the pictures do not do it justice.  But can we take a minute to talk about the colors of these leaves??
