I am still having withdraws from the Holidays – plus, my Christmas tree is still up. It doesn’t go down until after we celebrate my mom’s memorial and dad’s birthday, so next week, I have a lot of cleaning up to do!
Starting a new year always makes me want to start fresh. I am embarking on the long journey of cleaning out my closets, and slimming down my collection of, well, stuff. Bryan calls me a hoarder, and I admit I have some hoarder-tendencies, as I like to keep things that I attach a memory to, and I do that with A LOT of things. To be honest, I got a bit overwhelmed the other night because I just saw the sheer amount of clothes, makeup, etc., around me. I just needed a minute.
The good thing about purging my belongings is I see what I already have and what I really love. So I present to you my January favorites, including some of my Christmas presents. These are things that I adore and intend to use throughout the month!
Tory Burch ‘Simone’ Cardigans – Fashion-wise, I have been in a rut. When it’s cold outside, a cozy sweater and leggings just calls my name every morning. It’s getting pathetic. I invested in a couple classic cardigans last year, and told myself I wouldn’t buy a bunch of random cardigans throughout the winter. I accomplished that, but I need to incorporate these and more “real clothing” into my daily wardrobe. The first step, is admitting you have a problem. My problem – not wanting to wear pants. Ha.
ban.do gym bag – The barre studio I have been training with is finally opening in the next week, so this will be my go-to gym bag! Literally, a bag has never understood me more. Plus there is a water bottle to match. Ban.do is awesome, and I have tons of their fun notebooks, pencil bags, and mugs.
Burberry Brit perfume – Perfume bottles are evil. They are beautiful, so you get sucked in and buy them because you want to look at on your vanity everyday. I don’t have a large collection, but I need to make a habit of actually using my perfumes. Burberry Brit is a classic and in my humber opinion, a great scent for the winter months!
Jewelry – Generally, I have a few staple items. I always wear earrings, and two rings, one from my mom, and one from B. Besides those three things, it takes way more effort for me to throw on anything more. I won’t even begin to describe how many bracelets, necklaces, and watches I have. I’m awful. B got me the David Yurman ‘Buckle Cable’ bracelet, which I am obsessed with, so I have no excuse to not wear it! Coco Chanel, the queen herself, once said “before leaving the house, a lady should look in the mirror and remove one accessory.” With all due respect, my mantra needs to be the exact opposite! Put all the accessories on!
