The Friday before a holiday weekend is always exciting, BUT the Fourth of July decided to fall on a Tuesday this year.  For the unlucky few, we still gotta go to work on Monday!  What a tease… Oh well, maybe I can do some online shopping at work.  Shh!  Currently, everything at J.Crew Factory, both in-store and online, is 50% off, including my favorite go-to work dress.  I LOVE a good striped dress, and if I must confess, I have the counterpart to this dress, which is  white with black stripes.  And yes, there totally is a difference.

This J.Crew Factory Striped daybreak dress is perfect to throw on when I don’t want to come up with an outfit.  The material is thick, but lightweight enough for the hot summer weather we are having.  There is a zip back, a cinched waist, AND pockets.  I also love that the dress is very stretchy and comfortable, but it still has a structured look.  Here, I am wearing my favorite Steve Madden Carrson heeled sandals, but the dress looks great with ballet flats for work, or even my Jack Rogers when I am walking around a lot.  For under $40, this dress is a total steal.  At the bottom of this post are some of my favorites from the J.Crew Factory sale going on this weekend.

As for my accessories, I love a good pearl necklace.  Pearls are classic and I think they look great for work.  Personally, I like the way pearls look against a top or dress, so I frequently wear them with high-neck pieces.  Fun fact about me:  my mom’s side of the family was in the jewelry business, so I know a thing or not about bling.  I am thinking of doing a post talking about pearls – where to buy a classic set, how much (or how little) you need to spend, and how to take care of them.  Let me know if that would interest you!

What are your plans for the Fourth of July?? I have family coming in for my niece’s graduation party and I am getting ready to throw Bryan’s brother’s fiance a bridal shower, so we will be heading up to Upstate NY last next week.  My father is doing well, and I can’t seem to stop him from moving around!  But maybe that is a good thing.  I really appreciate all the kind thoughts prayers.  You guys are the best!
