So I have a hard time admitting when I am wrong. When I first saw the AWAY suitcases popping up, I didn’t believe the hype. I just thought so what?? How can you really make luggage any different than what it has been for the past 20 years?? It’s a box that holds your stuff inside a bigger box (the plane). I have been using my Bric’s Bellagio Spinner Trunk for a while now. It’s oh so pretty, but my only complaint is that since it is an international brand, the size is made to comply with international airlines. Note – it’s small. When I was preparing for my trip to Vietnam, I wanted a carry-on suitcase that would fit 2 weeks worth of clothes. I pondered, did a lot of research, bit the bullet and ordered the AWAY Bigger Carry-On, and I haven’t looked back!
My Favorite D.C. Restaurants
Alright friends, today we are doing something a little different, and it’s been a long time coming. I talk about where to eat when you travel and what I wear skipping around my town of D.C., but I’ve never blended those two together. Of the many things I love, food is at the top of my list. Food is so much more than just nutrients. Food is an expressive art. It’s how we celebrate, how we show love, and how we connect with people. I’ve lived here all my life, and while I may be totally biased to D.C., many of my transplant friends also agree that D.C. is quite the foodie scene. Below, I’m going to share my top 3 spots for coffee, brunch, and dinner.

Hi Friends! For this Travel Tuesday post, I’m doing something a little different and showing you my ride-or-die travel skincare routine. These past few months have been filled with travels, and my skin always takes a toll. Airports, planes, and climate changes make my skin freak out. I find the air in airports to be so odd…maybe it’s the immense amounts of people, fast food, and industrial equipment, all in one place…ha. Also, everyone gets dry and dehydrated on planes. A lot of beauty gurus I follow say they use face masks on planes. Really?? I don’t know if I truly believe them. Maybe if you’re on an international flight in your own pod… For now, these products are my tried and true favorites. I’ll talk about each of them, and add in some of my other travel must-haves for your skin.
2017 Travel Update – Where I’ve Been and Where I’m Headed
So for a Travel Tuesday post, I thought I’d talk about the places I’ve been so far this year, and the upcoming trips I have planed. But first, I’m sitting on a plane as I write this, and I have to admit to you that even though I do a decent amount of traveling, flying still makes me nervous…AHHH. I’m super jumpy and scared by any form of turbulence!
In January, Bryan and I made a trip down to Fort Myers, Florida, where his dad lives. We don’t get down there as much as we’d like, but it’s always a fun time. We don’t do too many outings, because we like to stay in and spend time with Bryan’s dad. Plus, he’s a great cook! Fort Myers has a lot of planned communities for retirees and snowbirds, so it’s a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle in the DMV.
Chicago Travel Guide – What to Do, See, and Eat
I can honestly say I fell in love with The Windy City! As some of you may have seen through my Instagram stories, I was in Chicago for The Blog Societies Conference. If you haven’t heard of The Blog Societies, or TBS, it’s a tight-knit network of bloggers started by Cathy and Jessica, who are amazing bloggers! I’m sure you follow one or both of them already! They are so talented in what they do, and luckily, they decided to share their knowledge and connections with fellow bloggers. I’m so thankful for them for introducing me to some wonderful ladies and for giving me an excuse to visit Chicago! Below, I’m talking about some of the fun things I did in the city, for when you get the chance to spend some time in Chi-Town.
